Medical & Aged Care Group (MACG), a leading residential aged care provider in Victoria, today announced the strategic acquisition of two prominent aged care residences, Cheltenham Manor and Greenwood Manor. The acquisition, effective from 1st September 2025, significantly expands MACG’s footprint and reinforces its commitment to quality care and family values.

The successful acquisition positions MACG as a major provider in the aged care sector, increasing its portfolio to 11 residential homes, caring for more than 850 residents. This substantial growth also sees MACG’s employee base expand toover 1,300 dedicated staff members across Victoria, solidifying the organisation’s presence and capacity to deliver outstanding resident care.

"This is a landmark moment for Medical & Aged Care Group," said Cameron McPherson, Chief Executive Officer of MACG. "We successfully competed with major, multi-billion-dollar national aged care providers in acquiring these homes. Our success highlights the trust and respect our approach has earned, underpinned by our genuine commitment to residents, families, and our people."

Industry sources confirm that MACG paid approximately $200,000 per bed place (net) for this acquisition, alongside assuming a RAD pool of $80 million. This disciplined approach underscores MACG’s ability to deliver superior value at a lower capital outlay while maintaining excellence in care. It positions MACG not only as a growth-focused organisation, but also as one that achieves strategic expansion with strong financial stewardship and competitive advantage in a rapidly consolidating sector.

MACG is a family owned and operated aged care provider, widely recognised for its high standards of care, driven by a values-based approach. The acquisitions of Cheltenham Manor and Greenwood Manor represent more than just an increase in operational size—they offer substantial employment opportunities and pathways for internal promotion, underlining MACG’s dedication to staff development and workplace excellence.

"Growth creates opportunities," Mr McPherson noted. "We anticipate significant job creation across clinical care, hospitality, maintenance, wellbeing, and administration. This means career progression and professional development for our current team members and new opportunities for future employees."

As MACG prepares to welcome new residents and staff, its strategic focus remains firmly on ensuring a seamless integration and continuity of care, driven by family values.

"We are honoured to carry forward the legacy and reputation established by Cheltenham Manor and Greenwood Manor," Mr McPherson continued. "Our priority is to enhance the lives of our residents and provide rewarding career paths for our dedicated staff."
