Frequently asked questions

Who is short term respite care for?

Short term respite care is for older people who need to live with round the clock professional care, but only for a limited amount of time. It's ideal for people who might live with a carer at home, for a period in which the carer is unavailable. We can provide care for people living with dementia or Alzheimer's, but also for older people not not living with those conditions.

What should I bring along for my short term respite care stay?

There are certain things that we recommend our guests bring along, even when they're just coming for a short stay.

  • Any prescription medicine that will be required
  • A few sets of clothes with names written on the tags
  • Any mobile phones, laptops, or tablets required
  • Contact numbers of friends and family
  • Specific equipment such as a walking stick or walker (if used)
  • Toiletries
  • A list of dietary requirements

What if I want a longer stay in respite care?

That's absolutely fine! In addition to short term respite care, we also offer long term respite care and also permanent residential care.
