Registered Division 1 Nurse

The Position:

This is a senior role where you will be responsible for the running of the home, ensuring that all care is provided in a professional and caring manner, staff management and liaising with families and contractors/providers.  You will be a Registered Division 1 Nurse holding a current registration with AHPRA and a current clear police check.  You will have successfully  worked in aged care In Charge After Hours including weekends, having demonstrated the following:

Exceptional:

  • Communication skills both verbal, non-verbal and written.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Literary and numeracy skills including computer literacy.
  • Time management skills.
  • Capacity to respond in a professional, appropriate and safe manner to emergencies or other extra-ordinary situations.
  • Conflict management skills relating to consumers, representatives and staff utilising open disclosure.
  • Clinical skills as applied to the specific and varied needs of the ageing community, for example addressing  consumers’ physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural needs.
  • Capacity to take responsibility for the smooth running of the shift and what occurs on the shift.
  • Capacity to supervise, guide, mentor, direct and lead the team to ensure quality outcomes for consumers and the team.
  • Professional presentation and behaviour that is reflective of the profession and the values and principles of Medical and Aged Care Group.
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Act and the revised Standards
  • Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)
  • Knowledge of supporting legislation for example WorkSafe, Food Safety.

Additional information:

In this role, you will be responsible for the provision of relationship focused care and clinical expertise, including conducting care assessments, updating care plans, investigating incidents and providing guidance and support to the care team. Maintenance Officer LaTrobe Valley

This role provides you with an exciting opportunity to work with an expanding Aged Care Provider that provides outstanding quality of care to our residents. We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Officer who is an all round person with excellent maintenance experience and capabilities. You will report directly to the Property & Maintenance Service Manager and you must be able to work in a team environment. The successful applicant may be required to travel to various locations.

You will also liaise with suppliers and contractors, residents and families. Meticulous, organised and versatile, you take pride in your work. Experience in Aged Care will be highly regarded.

As the Maintenance Officer, your key responsibilities will be;

  • Preventative, unplanned and corrective maintenance duties across multiple sites
  • Equipment and plant monitoring
  • Grounds and garden maintenance
  • Maintenance of schedules/registers and documentation for accreditation
  • Report any defects or improvements/replacements in buildings, equipment and grounds
  • Supervision of external contractors and suppliers regarding repairs and maintenance
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in building, equipment and gardening maintenance
  • Experience in Aged Care highly regarded
  • Proven painting experience
  • Experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills.
  • Self starter and excellent time management skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment
  • Certificate in test and tagging highly desired
  • OH&S knowledge

Making a difference n the life of someone elderly

We recognise that every volunteer brings unique knowledge, experience or talent to our Aged care facilities. Volunteer opportunities include, gardening services, companionship, bus driving, support with recreational activities for residents and entertainment.

Every volunteer is offered a thorough induction to enable them to perform their role as required and to understand their rights and responsibilities within MACG. Within our homes you’ll learn how to communicate effectively with residents and about the aged care industry in general. Enrolled Nurse / Team Leader

Medical & Aged Care Group operates a family managed business with unique positions in the ownership and management of Medical Practices and the ownership of Residential Aged Care Homes.

We are seeking enthusiastic, experienced aged care EN’s to work covering a variety of AM, PM & ND shifts in a couple of homes in the Sth Eastern Suburbs.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Clinical care: medication rounds, wound care, etc.
  • Liaising with visiting GP’s and allied health providers
  • Supervision of personal carers (with some ‘hands-on’ work required)
  • Documentation of resident care

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Current registration as an EN (medication endorsed)
  • Current police check
  • Sound clinical knowledge and experience
  • Supervisory skills
  • A sound understanding of Aged care legislation and accreditation requirements
